11月17日下午，第四届动力电池应用国际峰会(CBIS2019)召开“博弈：续航与安全”主题论坛。作为电池管理系统方面的专家，同济大学汽车学院副院长/新能源汽车工程中心主任魏学哲向与会嘉宾介绍了电池管理系统的发展过程，并提出电池管理系统即将进入“3.0时代”。
魏学哲表示，电池管理系统可以概括为两个环节，从较短的时间尺度考虑，就是SOC的问题;从较长时间尺度考虑就是电池的安全和寿命问题。
第一代电池管理系统采用阙值保护，只要电池不过压、不过流、不过热，第一代BMS具备一些保护措施。总结下来就是监管环节少。
目前市面上的电池管理系统已经发展到第二代。第二代BMS主要解决SOC的问题，主要采取模块化的集合，具有很强的扩展性，也具有一些主动性，比如热管理，第二代BMS具有更强的监管手段。
到现在，电池管理系统正在发展到“3.0时代”。需要保证电池的长寿命、高安全。魏学哲表示，电池管理系统的“3.0时代”带来的问题是，如何感知电池寿命，如何延长电池使用寿命，如何降低安全事故，如何做好安全管理和电池寿命的管理。
他认为，这个问题可以从更新材料的角度，也可以从电池设计、制造的过程中找到一些办法。其次就是要通过电池管理系统来进行解决。
同时，随着对电池安全性和寿命管理要求的提高，就必须管理到单体电芯，经过在电芯管理方面进行实验，魏学哲提出，单体电芯的检测芯片也应该在精度上也应该有所提高，这样才能加速进去BMS的3.0时代。
