最近在互联网上广泛传播的是几张本田摩托的专利图纸，据说已经在日本注册了新的踏板车。我们一起来看下从国外获得的照片，发动机插图与一辆非常类似于本田SH150i的踏板车一起发布。
虽然SH150i是一款适当的步进式踏板车，但并未在马来西亚销售，但它与本田PCX 150共用一些组件。如果这些照片是真品，那么这可能意味着该引擎可用于即将推出的PCX型号。
PCX 150已经更新，与PCX 150混合动力车一起出售，但发动机仍然是带有双阀和单顶置凸轮的，eSP 149 cc单缸。与此同时，竞争对手雅马哈NMax配备了一台155 cc的四气门发动机，并且可调节阀门。
从专利图中可以看出，本田为其新型踏板车注册的新发动机设计将配备每缸四气门，两个小进气门和略大的排气门。从侧面看，标有编号69的部分似乎是控制气门正时的小螺线管。
如果确认的话，这将是一个可调节的气门正时系统，就像本田的VTEC一样，在本田汽车发动机上很常见。除了本田汽车之外，VTEC之前曾在中量级本田CB400上亮相。
通过可变气门正时，发动机可以产生最佳功率和燃油效率，这取决于发动机转速极限和车辆行驶或骑行的方式。新技术的应用无疑将是对竞争对手最有力的回击，同时也是提高竞争力的必备手段。
