这个家族从最早的ML开始，到现在改了GLE这个名字，变得越来越精致豪华，乘坐体验也如豪华轿车般舒适。
显然易见的是，这个细分市场，各个车厂已经全面以公路表现作为开发重点（甚至是唯一要求），难得的是，奔驰对这个家族，都一直有一种看似固执的坚持——一部SUV，还是需要最起码的越野脱困能力。类似有这样坚持的，还有的话，或许就是路虎了。
和GLE性格最接近的对手，我认为是路虎揽胜运动版，舒适是开发的重要任务，同时在机械布局，例如四驱系统，动力分配模式，悬架规格，等等，有比对手更多的考虑，我们在海外测试全新GLE时，就对新车通过快速升起车身，来达到沙地脱困的功能印象深刻。但有点遗憾，我始终未能在这部据说已经是全配置的试驾车上找到这个功能，询问厂方同事，他们也表示暂时未在中国版车型上看到这个装备。
如果可以选装，我建议各位喜欢GLE的准车主还是选上这个装备，会让GLE的使用场景进一步拓宽，多功能车嘛，能实现的功能，自然是越多越好。另外，新GLE也跟随潮流，首次增加了第三排座位，全车7座位布局，到底这部车能不能满足所有心愿？
