汽车前挡风玻璃随着车速以及风速的变化会承受不同的压力，车速和风速越快，那么玻璃所承受的压力越大。如果不予理睬的话，这道裂痕随着压力的增大会不断的延伸，直到延伸到使整个玻璃分成两半。
如果为了一个小裂痕就换掉整块玻璃，不仅浪费，而且实在是不值；如果置之不理，风压又会让裂缝越扩越大，不仅影响美观，会对安全造成威胁。这时，如果去做汽车玻璃修补将是较理想的解决办法。汽车玻璃是一种双层胶合玻璃，受到外力的撞击时，如果力道不足以让它破碎而只产生裂痕，中间的胶合层就会因空气进入和大气压力的作用而分离，如果继续行驶，裂缝面积会越扩越大，影响视线及行车安全。汽车玻璃修补针对玻璃裂缝或小伤口进行处理，操作时间短，不会影响日常用车。
挡风玻璃有裂痕要这样处理：
1、裂缝的两端打两个洞，补胶，再打磨，防止扩散。
2、用一支类似针管构造的真空注射器，功能是将玻璃伤口内的空气抽掉；
在裂纹处填以玻璃修补剂（液态胶质）；
经过反复几次抽、压处理；用紫外线灯上下左右各照射两分钟，让修补液凝固；
机器移开后，伤口的中心点还会有一个小缺口，这时再滴入浓度较高的修补剂，盖上玻璃片，同样用紫外线灯照射烘干后，用刀片将表面刮平，涂上打光剂，用布磨光即可。
