马自达直列6缸发动机专利申报图曝光，此前外媒Jalopnik在马自达2019年3月份发布的投资者报告中就发现马自达确认将推出全新的直列六缸发动机，用于未来旗下的高端车型。马自达确认了全新直列六缸SKYACTIV-X发动机和直列六缸SKYACTIV-D发动机的推出计划。这意味着，马自达将加入宝马、奔驰、捷豹路虎等厂家持续复兴直列六缸发动机的行列。除全新直六发动机外，马自达还将继续更新魂动设计理念，同时轻混动力系统、纯电动车平台、全新高端架构（支持轻混和插电混动动力）也将陆续推出，其中全新高端架构还将匹配适配纵置发动机的i-Activ四驱系统，据此预计后轮驱动将是相应车型的入门标配。
