宝马M850i xDrive敞篷车以宝马8系Coupe为基础打造，并在细节上进行了调整，前进气格栅样式略有不同，格栅中央延续X5和iNext 概念车上相互融合的设计，带有主动格栅功能，并标配了激光大灯，照明距离可达600m。
新车依旧采用了长前悬短后悬的造型设计，配合翘起的尾部设计，显得整车非常优雅，同时侧面凌厉的腰线设计搭配多条辐轻质运动铝合金轮毂，也展现出其生而运动的天性。车身尺寸方面，该车长宽高为4843/1902/1341mm，轴距为2822mm。
宝马M850i xDrive敞篷车继承了宝马8系Coupe的扁平化设计，LED尾灯外壳也如其他来自 CLAR 平台的车辆一样，带有优化空气动力学性能的立体设计。后备厢盖沿边缘位置设计了一圈“鸭尾”，效果如同小尺寸扰流板。
宝马M850i xDrive敞篷车延续了M850i xDrive Coupe的内饰设计，整体采用了黑白双色色调，搭配了八角形UI的全液晶仪表盘和一块12.3 英寸触摸显示屏，整体动感时尚。为营造车内的豪华氛围，在中央通道两侧、仪表台下部等位置大面积使用了Merino Inpidual光面真皮，各按键若非玻璃质感即为金属质感，车门把手区域也重新设计。
宝马M850i xDrive敞篷车搭载M5那款4.4T V8双涡轮增压引擎，重新调校后最大输出可达390kW（530PS），峰值扭矩750N·m，匹配8AT变速箱，0-100km/h加速时间为3.7秒。
