发动机是卡车构造中的核心部件，其被称为卡车的“心脏”，为车辆提供动力，决定卡车的动力性、经济性和稳定性。传统燃油车的发动机技术含量高，老司机要多多加以养护，才能让卡车开得更长久。
今天，就以柴油卡车发动机为例，为各位卡友讲一讲发动机的保养之道。

检查仪表盘
仪表盘是日常监测汽车功能的重要工具，我们要时刻关注仪表盘显示灯，当发现仪表盘发动机故障灯长亮不灭时，要停止行驶，及时将汽车送往修理厂进行检查与维修。
检查燃油箱油位
我们还需时刻注意燃油箱油位，检查燃油箱是否有漏油情况。当燃油箱油位过低时，应及时补充，避免油箱长期低油位，给燃油泵造成损坏，导致发动机无法正常启动。

注意发动机机油量
发动机机油主要对发动机起到润滑减磨、辅助冷却降温、密封防漏、防锈防蚀、减震缓冲等作用，机油的检查与保养关系到发动机的性能和使用寿命。
我们可以通过查看机油标尺辨别是否需要补充机油。当机油油迹接近标尺下限标记，需要即刻添加机油，避免因润滑不良致使发动机零件出现严重磨损;当机油量超过标尺上限时，需要放出多余机油，以免造成燃烧机油和燃烧室积炭，降低发动机动力。
检查发动机散热器
发动机散热器，是水冷式发动机冷却系统的关键部件。我们在平时应定期清理，注意散热器内的水或防冻液水位量。当水或防冻液水量过低，应及时添加，避免温度过高导致发动机出现拉缸、爆缸等损害发动机的情况。
保持发动机机体干净
一般来说，车辆使用多年后，其汽缸盖罩或者是机油加注口附近会集聚一些难以清理的油泥。我们平时可以对发动机外表进行经常性清理，保证发动机舱清洁，以方便我们查看发动机漏油、漏液的现象。
发动机是集多系统组成的复杂有机整体，在保养的时候，我们应同时关注多组件使用情况。这将使你的爱车有一个年轻、健康的心脏，延长爱车的寿命。卡友们平时都是用什么方法来维护发动机的呢?
