汽车的大灯经历了从卤素灯到氙气灯再到LED灯的发展，亮度越来越高，照射距离也越来越远而汽车制造商们并不满足这些，一种亮度更高，照射距离更远的大灯问世了，它就是激光大灯

拿激光大灯会伤害到驾驶员的眼睛吗？车企们的工程师想出了解决办法，激光二极管发出的蓝色激光会先射入一个含黄磷的滤光透镜生成无害的白光，白光再经过一道透镜反射，最终才能形成照向外界的光源。

LED大灯的极限照射距离一般是300米，而激光大灯可以轻松照射到600米之外。
能耗却只有LED大灯的三分之二，尺寸只有五分之一，还兼顾了LED大灯响应快、寿命长的特点。
当然，激光大灯尚未普及也有它的原因，首先是成本很高，所以目前只有在高端车型上提供，其次就是它实在是太亮了。为了防止滥用，只能在特定的条件下才会自动开启（周围光线条件差、无同向或对向车、车速高于70KM/H）。激光大灯甚至在美国是不合法的，在国内也只能被削弱了照射距离才能上路。
