自动驾驶本就是个烧钱的“买卖”，众多车企纷纷寻求联盟，渴望吃下这块“蛋糕”，近日，大众表明正在寻求一种开放式平台，想让更多的伙伴纷纷加入到这一联盟中。
大众想要寻找开放的平台，让更多的车企加入到自动驾驶的联盟中。宝马对这一观点持赞同态度，愿意与全球更多汽车制造商和软件供应商合作，共同承担开发自动驾驶汽车的高昂成本，自动驾驶汽车将在未来移动出行领域起到关键作用。
宝马已经与菲亚特·克莱斯勒（FCA）、英特尔以及Mobileye等公司展开合作，大众也在去年加入了百度自动驾驶平台，并与初创公司Aurora展开合作。该公司是由前谷歌、特斯拉和优步等公司高管共同成立。除此以外，大众还将与福特汽车公司在自动驾驶领域进行合作。
目前，自动驾驶技术的开发，对于汽车制造商和软件开发公司来讲，是最昂贵、复杂的项目之一。比如，在交通拥挤、行人密集的城市地区驾驶无人汽车还要面临诸多挑战，所以该项目主要应用在于特定线路上运行的自动驾驶公交及卡车等。
此前，有报告显示全球自动驾驶技术的国家排名，从政策法规、科技与创新、基础设施以及用户的接受度4个方面进行评价，我国的政策法规并不是最低的。但是在科技创新，基础设施建设以及消费者接受程度方面，还有很长的路要走。
