距离2019日内瓦车展还有不到一个月的时间，据悉，大众将带来第八代Passat（迈腾）中期改款车型。目前，汽车官方发布了一组新款Passat图片，新款Passat将于今年5月在海外预售，8月在德国上市。
在现有车型的基础上，外观略有升级，前方镀铬装饰更粗了，日间行车灯经过了全新设计。LED大灯采用交互式照明系统，增强了安全性。
侧面与现款比似乎没什么变化。
尾部，“Passat”标识转移到中部大众车标下方（不怕奔驰路虎、就怕大众标下带字母），尾灯采用三组LED光源的组合，双边排气搭配镀铝装饰，显得更加有力量。
内饰上，延续了现款车型的设计，全球首款电容式方向盘；根据车型不同，中控屏分为6.5、8、9.2英寸。
动力上，新车沿用现款车型发动机配置，1.4T涡轮增压发动机最大功率为110千瓦，峰值扭矩为250牛米；1.8T涡轮增压发动机最大功率为132千瓦，峰值扭矩为300牛米；2.0T涡轮增压发动机最大功率为162千瓦，峰值扭矩为350牛米。
Passat GTE将搭载1.4T发动机，输出功率为156千瓦，而电动机则可以输出85千瓦的功率，传动系统匹配大众汽车专为混动车型开发代号为DQ400E的6速双离合变速箱。
