德系汽车在国内有着良好的用户口碑，使其它一直以来都非深受消费者的高度关注，尤其是BBA品牌，它们都是国人公认的豪华品牌，也是每个人都梦寐以求能开上的豪车，同时，随着汽车的竞争与汽车工业水准的节节攀升，BBA车型价格也有所下滑，非常值得注意的是，由于BMW非常的注重国内的汽车市场，不断的推出新款车型。
现款5系与同级车相较时，宝马5系推荐指数高达5星，前脸采用了家族式的设计风格，双口式的直瀑中网格栅，与两侧大灯相互吻合，是宝马家族车型最具有辨识度的造型，发动机舱设计比较的宽大，凸起的线条十分硬朗，凹凸有致。
直降3.30万，售价在41.51-62.69万区间，车身尺寸5087x1868x1500，轴距3108，宝马5系的空间优化做得相当的好，整车轴距超过了3m，使其无论是前排还是后排，对于乘客的驾驶体验都非常的好，车身侧面双腰线贯穿前后，线条硬朗，而且底部设计的凹槽部分立体感非常强，尾灯顶上还设计了小鲨嗜形的尾翼，底部更是采用了双边排气管，彰显出十足的动力。
内饰设计方面，比较的简约时尚，中控台以及车门处都采用了大量软皮质包裹，还嵌入了木纹装饰挡板，提升了整车的内饰档次感，物理按键设计得也相当简洁，电子档把在内饰中是宝马车型当中核心的一部分，呈现出内饰的高端，采用了三幅式多功能方向盘，全系车型搭载10.25英寸悬浮式触控式液晶屏，与全液晶仪表盘，还有倒车影像、GPS导航、智能互联定位、语音控制、手机互联Carplay等等功能，不过，现款5系最大的短板在于基础配置不够丰富，大量的高科技配置被列为选装件，进一步增加了体验成本。
由于得到大量的技术下放，全新一代5系在综合产品上有了较大的提升，现款车型全系搭配2.0T和3.0T两款发动机，2.0T分有高低功率版本，2.0T低功率版最大功率135kW，扭矩峰值290N.m，最大马力184匹，2.0T高功率版最大功率185kW，扭矩峰值350N.m，最大马力252匹，3.0T最大功率250kW，扭矩峰值450N.m，最大马力340匹，统一匹配8AT变速箱，这两套动力总成而言，总体性能调校相对保守，但匹配度极高，在动态行驶上，现款5系向舒适性有所妥协，虽然在驾驶部分舒适性有所下滑，但在驾乘的舒适性上却获得了消费者的一致好评，一直以来开宝马坐奔驰的评价，在这一代车型上有了明显的口风对调。
综合来看，尽管这一代车型牺牲了部分宝马引以为傲的操控，但整车的驾乘舒适性直线上升，使得了5系获得了更多消费者的肯定与青睐，因此，换代时间晚于老对手奔驰E级的5系，后续发力，一路高开，获得了极高的市场认可，操控性被一致公认好评的宝马，也从未令消费者失望过。
