2月22日，买车网（Buycar.cn）获悉，福特向监管机构报告称，其尾气排放测试可能存在“潜在担忧”。
据悉，福特已于本周向美国环境保护署和加州空气资源委员会报告了相关事宜，同时聘请外部专家调查燃油经济性以及排放测试程序。不过，福特暂未发现类似大众在柴油车排放丑闻中使用的作弊装置。福特表示，正在考虑改变测定方式，来与监管规定保持一致。
目前，福特正与监管机构和独立实验室合作，共同完成对排放和燃油经济性的审核。第一个被审查的车型是2019的皮卡Ranger，其他车型也在接受检测。而福特的一位发言人称，目前关于福特的调查仍在进行中，信息太少，暂时不能得出任何结论。
在此之前，福特就被曝出存在燃油经济性的问题。2014年，福特下调了部分车型的燃油经济性标签值，因消费者和业内专家指控其燃油经济性存在虚高现象，当时福特还向消费者提供了赔款。而除了福特之外，大众、菲亚特克莱斯勒和日产也陆续被卷入“排放门”。
