在宝马推出全新旗舰级产品8系后，就有人猜测，宝马会不会推出X系列中的8系，也就是X8呢？恭喜你！猜对了！
目前，海外车圈概念图大师X-TOMI Design发出全新预设图，正是宝马全新X8。并非空穴来风。宝马在推出体型非常巨大的X7后，便有人猜测X8已经进入日程，随后，宝马方面否认了X8已经进入最后设计阶段，持续不断的传言接踵而至，在BMWBlog平台中，似乎一份不太令人瞩目的报告，透露了宝马X8的发布日期。
这份报告中显示，宝马X8已经获准生产，预计明年晚些时候或2021年年初上市。然而，这件事并没有想象中那么简单。角师傅猜测，这部分时间所指的也许是X8概念车的亮相，而非量产版本。宝马惯用的新车挑逗性发布步骤是，先出概念车吹风，同时开发阶段延长几个月或几年，最简单的例子便是新3系，很早就出风，吹了一年多才上市，而新一代M3也走的这样的路线，所以还要等一年才能看到真正的M3的样子。
不过，稍微确定的是，宝马X8的内部代号为G09，是X7的四门coupe版，可能尺寸没有X7那么大，但价格却一样的贵。关于性能方面，最近有传闻称，X8 M也会加入家族阵营中，或搭载4.4T V8双涡轮增压发动机，参照X6 M，马力或超600匹。另外一种传言便是，V12引擎的引入，令人期待。
