据外媒研究显示，在美国约40秒左右就有一辆车被偷窃，美国国家犯罪保险局统计，近年来该国内失窃率风险相当高的车款。
美国国家犯罪保险局（简称NICB）统计，最容易失窃车的车款，以日系车为居多，本田思域、本田雅阁、丰田凯美瑞、日产天籁、丰田卡罗拉等这些旧年份车款，大多也曾在国内市场出现过。
本田思域
失窃率十大风险车款如下：
1. 本田思域（年份1998）
2. 本田雅阁（年份1997）
3. 福特F-Series（年份2006）
4. 雪弗兰皮卡（年份2004）
5. 丰田凯美瑞（年份2017）
6. 日产天籁（年份2016）
7. 丰田卡罗拉（年份2016）
8. GMC皮卡（年份2017）
9. Ram Dodge Ram（年份2001）
10. 雪弗兰Impala（年份2008）
GMC Savana
GMC Savana时常做为工作车，因此车内常有的昂贵的办公器材，成为窃贼觊觎对象之一。
虽然NICB统计有高失窃率风险以日系车款居多，不过相当有趣的是，里面仅有GMC Savana这一款为MPV的厢型车，也是国内人俗称的工作面包车，因为常做为工作用途，车内常常摆有昂贵的办公器材，所以容易成为窃贼下手的目标。
本田雅阁
NICB最后也建议各车主可自行花费加装追踪器之类的防盗装置，因为据他们统计，只靠汽车本身的防盗系统或是一般警报器是无法有效喝止当地猖狂的汽车窃盗犯。
