“泄气保用轮胎”，是防爆轮胎的学名，英文缩写RSC。充气后的轮胎胎壁是支撑车辆重量的主要部位，特别是一些扁平比（扁平比是轮胎高度与宽度的比）较大的轮胎，胎壁非常“肥厚”，“爆胎”严重时通常会导致胎壁的瞬间崩裂，从而使轮胎瞬间失去支撑力，导致车辆重心立刻发生变化，特别是前轮驱动车的前轮爆胎，爆胎后瞬间的重心转移很可能会令车辆失控。
RSC在轮胎泄气的情况下，车辆仍然可以80公里/小时的车速行驶250公里。但这已经足够！RSC已经可以避免在高速公路爆胎时几乎会导致的重大安全事故，而且可以避免你在高速公路上冒险换轮胎情况。甚至紧急的情况下，爆胎后没有时间更换轮胎，防爆轮胎还可以支持你行驶250公里。
RSC防爆轮胎之所以泄气后不会垮下，主要是因为加厚的橡胶侧壁，即使失去气压，侧壁也能够支撑车辆的重量，不会导致严重的变形，因此轮胎爆胎后并不会严重影响车辆的行驶，甚至车主有可能感觉不到。
