外观方面，新车的外观设计源自哈弗的HB-02概念车，相比F5在整体设计上显得更有气势，细节方面，哈弗F7前脸采用全新的六边形进气格栅设计，车辆配备了鹰眼式的LED大灯。新车车身长宽高分别为4620/1846/1690mm，轴距为2725mm，定位为一款紧凑型SUV。尾部设计上，新车采用LED光带式尾灯组，辅以镀铬装饰条给人感觉层次感分明。此外，双边共两出的排气装饰罩也进一步提升该车运动气息。
配置方面，LED日间行车灯、LED前雾灯带转向自动照明、外后视镜电加热、前后无骨雨刮、中控彩色触摸屏、带换挡拨片的真皮方向盘、ESP、HDC陡坡缓降、HHC上坡辅助、行车记录仪、胎压监测、刹车优先系统、疲劳驾驶监测、哈弗智家-Telematics（4G）、驾驶模式选择、倒车影像带动态倒车辅助线、定速巡航等均为全系标配。哈弗F7在高配车型配备了主副驾驶座椅电动调节、CTA倒车侧向警告、DOW开门预警、前泊车雷达、手机无线充电、LDW车道偏离预警、AEB自动紧急刹车、LCA并线辅助、BSD盲点监测、TSR交通标志识别、适时四驱系统、双温区自动空调、PM2.5过滤等多项领先的智能科技配置。
内饰方面，哈弗F7中控台偏向于驾驶员一侧，全液晶仪表盘、中央大尺寸显示屏、游艇式电子换挡杆等。配置方面，哈弗F7新车将配备有电子挡把、语音识别控制、车联网、车机手机互联、6安全气囊、前碰撞预警、盲点监测等功能。
哈弗F7搭载了长城自主研发的两款涡轮增压发动机，其中1.5T发动机的最大功率为124kW（169Ps）/5000-5600rpm，最大扭矩为285Nm/1400-3000rpm。2.0T发动机的最大功率可达145kW（197Ps）/5200-5500rpm，最大扭矩可达345Nm/2000-3200rpm，还曾获中国十佳发动机称号。
