在Elon Musk的博客中，有这么一句话：如果我们的目标是创造令人惊艳的电动车，但却依靠知识产权来抑制后来者，那我们的行为是与我们的初衷或是目标背道而驰的。的确，即使目前特斯拉的产品足够吸引眼球、足够高科技，但相对于一些传统车企的传统燃油车产品而言，它的竞争力或是实际的市场表现都是不足以称道的。相反，特斯拉在近年来大力普及超级充电桩，并且花费巨资来建造电池工厂以及生产线，这对于入不敷出的特斯拉来说实属有些“头疼”。所以，推动行业发展、产生规模效应、分担更多的成本，或许才是Elon Musk想要达到的目的。
加快统一行业标准，促进各厂商的合作
Elon Musk开放特斯拉的所有专利技术，也意味着会迎来更多的合作，想必这一点大家都能想明白，并且事实也正是如此。在Elon Musk发表相关言论后，其本人表示已经在和宝马公司的相关负责人探讨，对于电动车充电标准、充电桩以及相关技术的应用，宝马似乎都有意与特斯拉进行合作。此举对于特斯拉这个企业来说，百利而无一害。另外，根据国外相关媒体的报道，日产公司的相关负责人亦有意与特斯拉展开合作，对于充电桩的建设以及相关统一规范等问题，有望达成共识，以达到普及更多、更快、更有效的充电网络。
打开大门迎客是好是坏？
Elon Musk的这一壮举，目前在业内还是褒贬不一的状态，但我认为，无论是处于商业盈利的目的，还是Elon Musk本身对于这个行业的热爱，特斯拉开放所有电动车相关专利一事是利大于弊的。一方面，开放相关的专利可以帮助一些较为“落后”的汽车厂商，帮助其在产品研发上更进一步；另一方面，开放相关的专利势必会迎来更多的技术融合，也就是说，特斯拉很有可能也会迎来更多的技术，同时将电动车相关技术持续推进，达到产品更为完善、技术更为先进的效果。总而言之，打开大门迎客似乎是一个非常不错的选择。
