新一代奔驰A-Class以全新动力、底盘以及华丽的内装科技席卷豪华掀背车市场，而身为同好对手的宝马1系列，也不甘示弱，准备派出大改款车型一较高下，外媒《Motor1》这次捕获到最新的测试车，首度曝光的内装格局是最大亮点，预计会在今年9月的法兰克福车展亮相。
与旗下新生代车款相同，新的1系水箱罩面积也获得放大，提高视觉的辨识度。新宝马1系以UKL衍伸而来的前驱FAAR平台所打造，虽然从旧款的后驱改为前驱，但预计轴距、车高、车宽都会有所增加，能带来更宽敞的乘坐空间，由测试车外观得知，车头以换上新样式的LED头灯组、水箱护罩面积获得放大，展现出豪华、霸气的视觉氛围。
车顶至尾门的线条变得更流线、圆滑，钢炮气息展露无疑。车尾后方仍维持长条式的LED尾灯，不过看起来造型、轮廓有经过修改，与上一代相比，自车身B柱之后向下倾斜的线条幅度来得用大，流露出明显的跑格味。
新一代奔驰A-Class内装主打双片大面积屏幕以及数位娱乐系统，从首次曝光的宝马1系车内格局来看，也不甘示弱的采用全数位仪表与大尺寸的iDrive屏幕，同时也会导入新一代的娱乐系统来与对手一较高下。
从测试照片看来，全数字仪表与大尺寸的iDrive屏幕在新款车型上不会缺席。
